Reboot your system and have Edited May 10, by Guest. Posted May 10, Since Windows 7 was installed before Snow Leopard this particular instance with the intention of dual-booting, the osinstall. Make a note of partition sizes. All parts bold in this section pertain to dual-booting. The update to After installing and updating, your Windows boot will be messed up.
To fix it, you will need a USB optical drive. Put your Windows 7 disk into the drive, boot from it, click through the wizard until it displays "Install Now". Instead of clicking that, click "Repair My Computer".
It will scan for a Windows install and not find one the one it's looking for is not on an "active partition". Click through to get to the tools, then click on the Command Prompt link. Then, type out the codes in this sequence:. That will make the Windows partition the bootable partition.
After this, restart and boot from the optical drive again. Go through the wizard again and click on "Repair My Computer". This time, Windows will find the install on the hard drive and repair it. If it can't fix it once, reboot and do it again. It will get fixed. Anyway, after it's fixed; reboot again and boot from the optical drive. Get to the Command Prompt by the same process as I described above. Then, reboot and boot from the hard drive. Hopefully you'll see the slightly-more-awesome Chameleon boot menu instead of that drab Windows boot menu.
You can experiment with different ATI drivers, but they never made a difference to me. Display works, but graphics performance isn't great, so I don't think it's properly hardware accelerated.
Also for some reason if I boot in 32 bit mode, airport is still enabled and hence causes crashing, so you'll have to avoid 32 bit mode. Go in BIOS. Reset everything to default. You must also have SSE3. Longhorn Packet 1. You need a pretty decent computer and at least intermediate computer skills to be able to have Hackintosh. If none of those do it, give up. Leopard is outdated, but if you want a feel of Mac, you can try it. Kalyway may work or may not. I'm sure iDeneb will work.
